The College of International Studies is a reflection of OU President David L. Boren’s visionary leadership for advancing international education opportunities for all students. CIS is committed to developing compassionate, open-minded citizens by providing students with the best education, resources and tools available to be successful in today’s global environment. Therefore, CIS is home to outstanding international studies faculty who teach exciting classes, study abroad programming that offers an abundance of opportunity around the world, and 2,000 international students earning degrees in colleges across campus. CIS also operates three OU international study centers located in Arezzo, Italy; Puebla, Mexico; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There has never been a better time than now to the see the world and stay a Sooner!
To help make international education more affordable, CIS has developed a number of scholarships and awards that are available to those who wish to study abroad or are international students in Norman. These scholarships and awards are made possible thanks to the generous support of our wonderful donors. If you are able, we ask that you join us in continuing to make a difference in the lives of our students. Any donation, no matter the size, provides funding to help students cover the costs associated with study abroad or can help an international student here on campus. All donations are tax deductible and go to a wonderful cause. If you would like to enhance international awareness and grow global opportunities, please donate here. We thank you!!
“A scholarship helped me to study abroad for a full academic year, fall through spring. It encouraged me to use a reciprocal exchange program, given the stipulations of the scholarship, which helped me to choose a program at a university where I took classes with Russian students and professors, in the Russian language. Not only did this significantly improve my linguistic skills, which allowed me to tutor other OU students in Russian when I returned, but also improved my confidence and bravery and gave me the experience of a lifetime.”
